Meet Christina

My name is Christina El Bayadi and I am seeking your vote to be Onondaga County’s next Family Court Judge. I have spent my entire career in family court, and my experience there has changed me as an attorney and a human being.

ABOUT Christina

I was raised in Baldwinsville and have lived in the Syracuse area for most of my life. I was admitted to the New York Bar in 2011 after graduating from Syracuse College of Law with a Family Law and Social Policy Certificate. I was honored to serve the people of Onondaga County, first as a staff attorney at the Frank H. Hiscock Legal Aid Society, then at the Center for Community Alternatives, and most recently as an Onondaga County Family Court Support Magistrate.

You may have heard the phrase, “if you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed to you.” I have dedicated most of my career to being that attorney. After graduating from SU Law in 2010, I dove headfirst into the complex world of family law as a staff attorney at the Frank H. Hiscock Legal Aid Society. I spent most of the next 10 years serving Onondaga County’s indigent population. This was my first experience managing an enormous caseload and dealing with the intricacies and emergencies of people’s daily lives. In my role as staff attorney, I handled custody matters, child support, issues of paternity and parentage, and family offenses.

It takes a person with the right balance of patience and compassion, combined with an authoritative and decisive nature, to sit on the Family Court bench and make decisions that can so drastically affect children and families. I believe I possess these qualities, legal experience, along with my own personal experiences, to make these difficult determinations. I humbly ask for your vote this November so I can continue to serve our families.
